Interpreting
Interpreting is a real-time transfer of spoken word into another language. Interpreters are an integral part of international talks, conferences, political summits, lectures and other events bringing together people of different nationalities. They serve as an invisible link between speakers of different languages.
Interpreting is a most demanding line of work and requires a specially trained and experienced person who can transfer communication from one language into another with no loss of information in real time. Interpreters enable communication between people who would normally not understand each other.
If translation is an umbrella term for all transfers of communication from one language into another, than interpreting is centred on transfers of spoken-word communication between clients at the time and place the communication is taking place. Sworn court interpreters are involved in translating spoken and written word and their unique legal status gives them the responsibility to assure utterly accurate translations that have full legal status.
